When I was a kid I had Mario's FUN-damentals on the box. The animations freaked me out back then. 'Here fish-y fish-y. Chee!'

It was interesting to finally see footage of that Mario PC prototype. Also thank goodness it didn't happen...

ID's proposal to them was before those games were made, right? That, and the CD-i.

Nintendo made some great third party decisions in the 90s even before the 3D age, I see.

I wonder what IFD stood for, ID's old name?

I also had no idea they made anything past that initial "DD in Copyright Infringement" level.

Ideas From the Deep. It was a name that Romero had been kicking around for a while. They dropped the F pretty soon after, though.

Very interesting. Back when reading about the Super Mario Bros. 3 PC demo and its scrolling becoming the beginnings of Keen, I wouldn't have imagined that one day it'd be possible to see it in action. This is neat
