@Keening_Product:

It's not so much about similarity but about some association (noticing a certain aspect which reminds me of...). you are telling a story about a part of your world, I'm telling about mine. let's see if we could meet...

Tropic Of Cancer
- Be Brave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8rXJtSohiM
vs.
Trentemøller - Take me into your Skin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6y-mzh7mvKE

Lebanon Hanover
- Gallowdance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPw7nlluRdc
vs.
Massive Attack- Splitting the Atom: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC6Ao8Gi8ZE

Modèle Mécanique - Dark of the Moon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBykJbGai6g[/quote]
vs.
Julius Steinhoff - Treehouse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haXJw3EjwVo
by the way, are you familiar with the visual-reference (the iconic moon image) shown in Modèle Mécaniques Dark of the Moon? it's from the 1902 film Le Voyage dans la Lune by George Méliès. And if you haven't watched it yet, you definitely wanna give it a shot! it is lovely and well worth seeing (much better than the Transformers film you were mentioning earlier).

and now for something completely different:

DJ Shadow - Dark Days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0BW8pVVT5Q

RJD2 - Ghostwriter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg7LDvE5gMM

Hidden Orchestra - Wandering: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFYyvjTWGs0

Simon and Garfunkel - You Can Tell The World

I can't believe I haven't discovered S&G sooner. This kind of folk is the basically only Czech music I like to listen to (because we're so good at it, hah), S&G are exactly the same except in English and just even better. The entire Wednesday Morning 3 A.M. album is fantastic. I'm scouting all of the ebays and craigslists and whatnot to find a good vinyl copy, but apparently people only listen to Bridge Over Troubled Water and compilations here.

I want the acoustic Sound of Silence, dammit. It kicks the other version in the nuts.

I recently picked up Melody's Escape on Steam - a pretty simple music-based platformer game, the idea of music-based games greatly interest me. One of the original songs that I've grown to enjoy is the main menu piece Regain Control by Shirobon, it's one of a few provided pieces of music designed to be both be a good soundtrack and a reasonable level to get through.

If anyone has Melody's Escape let me recommend a hard level - Reptilia, the Fourplay String Quartet rendition of the Strokes song.

Stone Temple Pilots - Vasoline https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht672-wYelc
Kongos - Come With Me Now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tDjYuqJRJQ
Budgie - Napoleon Bona Parts 1 & 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scIqFErh3v4
A lot of Sweet, which is oddly popular currently due to certain movies.

Right now, Animal Collective's Centipede Hz. (Here's the first track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCDsrIToBMQ, and here's one of my favourites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPaA4HVISLo.)
