Yeah, exactly. Surely they know there's seven people on this forum who want a Linux version!
It looks a great pack though. It's amazing how the company is still making money out of these games two decades on.

Keening_Product was defeated before the game.

Screw the Steam version because there's no Commander Keen in there. If they have Shadow Warrior and stuff from the Apogee Throwback Pack don't see the point why they can't have Keen in there. I get it that there's already one by id on Steam but still...
They added two games... ok... but people will get those on 3DR as a future update. Oh well... at least update the cover on Steam and remove Keen from it.
Pack is still good though, just missing Keen. So yeah. Get it from 3drealms.com if you want them. Not having Keen is much more serious than not having Linux builds. After all that's just DOSBox...

Yeah, there's kind of bullsiht false advertising there. Their picture of the Apogee Anthology clearly shows Commander Keen on the front cover, but CK is not a part of the Anthology.
I may buy it, but I'd be much happier buying it if it came with Commander Keen. Of course, I'd be happier still to have a complete CK Anthology of all of the episodes, but given that Keen Dreams is in a weird place legally as is GenForum's control of CK6, it makes it essentially impossible to sell. I'm not sure why Tom Hall and co. did the distribution rights that way. I understand Keen Dreams (although you'd think that they'd have done it different where they still had some distribution control so long as they shared revenue) because of their old contracts, but I do not understand CK6. They certainly weren't hurting for money then, they were already quite well-off as a company by then, I would have thought.

Here's why it's no on Steam.
It IS actually in the Anthology if you buy it from the 3D Realms site, however.

Wow look at me I'm lurking
This is true. In addition:DaVince wrote:Here's why it's no on Steam.

- As further stated in the above page, there are 3 additional games added to the Steam release as a compensation for the lack of the Keens and Wolf3D, although it's planned to also add them to the 3DR site release.
- In the current 3D Realms FAQ (https://3drealms.com/faq/), which has some additional information, it is stated that if one bought the Anthology at 3DR's site, there is a way to get a Steam key.

Yeah... compensation... still doesn't make sense if those titles will come to the 3D Realms store. It will be a free update to them. They are scared because Zenimax. Most likely. DRM-Free users get free Steam keys, and you can resell that, but Steam users can't have the DRM-Free copy with the missing titles. Amazing!
Also no Kroz and Boppin'. I know about the old ftp with the freeware. Bio Menace is freeware and it's in the pack.

You sound a little angry, I think you need to calm down.
They can't just publish Commander Keen on Steam again when the actual owner of the games is already publishing it. Duke Nukem 3D is different since Megaton is published by Devolver Digital and it actually different (don't ask me about Shadow Warrior though).
I bet if you emailed 3D Realms, they'd give you access to the DRM free versions on their website with your Steam purchase details provided of course.
It's like you guys want to be angry at nothing for no reason.
