whoooaaaat? This is a surprise indeed. I wouldn't have thought Jill had a feature like that, especially since, besides the quirky atmosphere and style, it feels like a rather sloppy program.

Weirdest controls ever, but I look forward to seeing some new levels from anyone who can get the hang of it.

Yeah, it's not the most user friendly level editor. I'm thinking it was probably a development tool?

Meets easter egg. Was this listed in any physical game documentation?

ModdingWiki says it's undocumented and I'd never heard of its existence until I saw it mentioned on there...

I'm a bit late, but for the record I discovered the editor while I was porting the Xargon source code to SDL. It was commented out in Xargon, but I thought I'd try it anyway in Jill since they share so much code. Needless to say, I was pretty surprised when it worked :-)

I think my brain just melted.

Was just going through some old emails from 2005 that I'd exchanged with the author of a Jill of the Jungle website (http://members.tripod.com/classic_roach/id14.html) and one of our discussions was actually about this editor. I'd since completely forgotten about its existence and probably never realized its significance when we'd discussed it.

Anyway, the website's author sent me a copy she had of the internal editor's manual. Not sure who the author is or where it came from (Epic, I guess...), but is seems to cover the editor's functionality pretty well.

Have a download of it: http://spikenexus.rewound.net/misc/jotj/Editor.doc[/url]

Wow, so many long-largely-dormant users (two) have returned lately!

Spikenexus, thank you for uploading that!
