CK4 levelpack: Desert Town

Post by szemi »

:birthday Happy Leap Year! :birthday

On the occasion of this special day I present you my next Keen 4 levelpack, which is Desert Town.

Get it here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4975825/DTown.zip

Those, who doesn't know, I tell: Desert Town was originally planned for Keen 4, but it was scrapped.

P.S. Sorry if the level is kinda short.
Yeah, piece of cake!

nice thinking so far! completing the missing parts seems to be an interesting idea.

but I think this level of yours could be a little bit more complex in some sense. in comparison to the Lifewater Oasis, Miragia and Sand Yego it feels more like an expansion of that first Border Village level, even though it has a huge amount of creatures in it. maybe the underworld could be explored a little bit more... just thinking

while being nitpicking, at the end of the tunnel Keen can actually climb out that area (not using the pole but clamber up the wall) and die.
Imageedit: double pole spotted Image

however, I do like the idea of giving back a former blind spot of the original. that space in the upper left of the shadowlands always felt so empty in a tragically way. So I'm happy the Desert is now filled with a town. a small one, but at least that emptiness has gone.

Nice, like the exit sign. This has a remarkably authentic atmosphere about it.

Issues:

* The level doesn't get marked as done

* You can sneak out of the top left of this room and end up here, it'd be a cook secret area but as-is you have to die to escape.

@Nisaba: Well, with this effort I could criticize everything, too.

@Levellass: Problem will be fixed.

The level doesn't get marked as done. Why? Because there's no patch that makes level 20 done (flagged). Then don't wonder. So I want that patch.
Yeah, piece of cake!

don`t be so harsh. I got feelings, too.
just cut off the middle-part of my last post.
and always remember: I'm impressed by your zest for action. every single one of your mods has a unique idea and a novel rethinking, of how Commander Keen games could be realized. I appreciate that. and you know that. kisses

I know. This levelpack is a proof that I really did something for 29th February.

Initial levelpack it is now. I fix, don't worry.
Yeah, piece of cake!
