Question about Keen Dreams source code

Question about Keen Dreams source code

When I build the CKD source code, is it allowed (legal) to rename the file extensions or not? (for example from CKD to CKx)

Because the Atroxian Realm mod has *.CKD extension, that's why I'm asking.

Yes, you can do anything you want with the source as long as you make your full, modified version available for free with the compiled download.

This has probably been answered elsewhere, but what's the go with IP in regards to source modded Dreams-based games? Obviously new games would have to be open source too, but has anything really changed in use of graphics, names etc since pre-source release when modding KD?
