Buying the Commander Keen Dreams ip doesn't give you the rights to making more "Commander Keen" games as that ip still belongs to id Software/Bethesda.

Yeah, that's exactly why I was asking as the claim this gives rights to the franchise seemed pretty crazy.

Yes, both of you are right, sorry, at least it couldnt be called a Keen game, since Keen is owned by Zenimax, right. Sorry, my enthusiasm got the better of me. :)

However if the Keen Dreams ip is seen as an ip different from Keen Galaxy and Vorticons, then a Meats sequel could be possible, just a matter of who has the better lawyers I guess, and if anyone really wants to prevent a niche product like a keen dreams sequel to appear (which might gross some 20 $ in a good week if you're lucky and that's nothing)

It at least gives the regular Keen IP some increased worth, and current relevance, which can't be a bad thing, even if the rest is pie in the sky.

Maybe the sequel could have a different name, not be called "Keen" but something else, like Meats 2. :)

ABORT ABORT ABORT

The person running this project is a known scammer.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IA4ZG34

These are some of his released projects that are up illegally on those storefronts and he has more. He illegally uses source ports for games and does not provide the source code for any of them. He also routinely harasses developers on Twitter including Apogee, 3D Realms, Interceptor and even myself:

Harasses developers on Steam (I'm a moderator on these forums):

Another developer who was almost conned before has now just alerted me about the guy's name again and his name was only recently added to the project.

Be warned. I also suggest contacting IndieGoGo about the project.

Well, I suspected there was something (dope)phishing about it.

Classy.

Ah well, at least it was cancelled before anyone else was sucked in. All of you who donated really should think twice before supporting a campaign with next to no details, poor publicity, and poor justification.

I've been trying to reach Lunick about this, and he keeps ignoring me. I have to admit, I havent been very honest about my identity here, and for that I'm sorry. I indeed started this campaign, but unlike what Lunick said, it was never my intention to deceive anyone. It is not a scam, unlike what Lunick claims. The money indeed was/is going towards the intended goal, and nowhere else. I havent seen a cent of any pledges up to this point, I havent entered any payment information to indiegogo, and i wont if the community wants it. It's true that I was selling software without owning the rights to it, and im sorry about that, I have removed those from sale. This campaign was my venturing into legit realms. I was tired of selling illegal software, and i really didnt see much gains from any anyways. I wanted to do something that would benefit the keen community, and bring excitement to its members. This campaign was 100% true, and i thank all the contributors to it, up to this point, including Lunick. I feel it's important that you hear this side of the story, since it's not all what he paints it to be.
thank you for your time.

Doesn't this violate the board's TOS?
