Re: OFF TOPIC THREAD: Where derailing the thread is impossible!

Nospike my dude. How old are you just starting driving? And where is this? Sorry just curious haha. I'm 18 and this is in the Czech Republic. 18 is the age limit for driving here, but you can start theory at 17 and drive with an instructor in the car, then take the exam once you hit 18. That's exac...

Re: OFF TOPIC THREAD: Where derailing the thread is impossible!

Phew, just finished writing a sudoku solving AI. ...that's what I'd like to call it. In reality, it's a primitive algorithm that can't deal with non-linear scenarios where you have to choose and see where that takes you. The code also looks horrible, but that's because I'm anal about C++ conventions...

It looks awesome... but... Kailh switches :barf

I *think* it might be possible to find those keycaps on taobao or aliexpress or something similar though. They're standard cherry stem so they should fit any ANSI layout.

Re: Level Viewer for KEEN VORTICONS and GALAXY (and more...)

Tinkering with mechanical keyboards is surprisingly easy and fun. :) Took the caps off my old Steelseries 6G to give it a proper cleaning, fitted it with the O-rings that came with my Novatouch, then flipped the spacebar and some mod keys. Goodbye Emacs pinky, forever! Silencing rings do make a worl...

Re: Linux Adventures

First of all, bspwm is very much clutter-free. It has a short, simple, concise separate config file for the actual WM itself and another one for the keyboard daemon which facilitates the controls. Right out of the box it has a couple great features that I consider very basic that i3 doesn't even hav...

Re: Linux Adventures

So originally I was planning to install Gentoo on this old a$$ laptop, but it just didn't want to work. Can't blame it, really, in the end I decided that the compile times were just too long. (1.86 GHz Celeron and 512 MB RAM master race, yo) I ended up downloading Arch in a hurry and it's actually r...

What do all gardening enthusiasts have in common?

They've never had to trim a binary search tree. :x

Re: OFF TOPIC THREAD: Where derailing the thread is impossible!

Come on, there's no large scale derailment at all. The most recent couple pages of "linux" search results only really show about three threads with any major Linux discussion of which two are actually dedicated to the subject, and the third thread is this one.

Re: Linux Adventures

nevertheless I have some issues configuring dmenu to fire up wine programs like photoshop or even abiathar. ($PATH) any suggestions on that? Well, the easiest solution is probably to make a bash script that simply execs your Windows program through wine and then pop that script into your bin direct...
