Re: Keen1 insane minimalism level competition/collection

Really neat idea. It's a shame that by the time I've seen this thread the deadline's pretty close and the computer I'm currently mostly using isn't set up for Keen modding/level editing/etc.

Re: Commander Keen Travels - Release

I gave it a quick try and I thought: decent, has potential, movement is perhaps a bit slow. When moving forward it feels as if you're pushing against something (not sure if I'm describing it well, but I think it might be that the speed of horizontal movement doesn't quite feel like it fits with the ...

"The Thief" is on Delay 1968 isn't it?

Re: [Release] Vinyl Goddess from Mars Level editor + level pack

Would be nice to see a good Jill of the Jungle level editor (most likely the full version of JillEdit can't be acquired anymore and the in-game editor, though usable, could stand to be more user friendly), but it's certainly easier to sit around and talk about what level editors one would like to e...

Granted. You're not hungry, ever again. You no longer need to eat. It's alright at first, even kind of convenient, but before long you really start to miss food.

I wish I would get enough sleep and sleep at normal times.

Re: Crystal Caves for NES

Very interesting, impressive. When I first played it seemed the graphics were glitched out, but it turned out to be the emulator I was using as I switched to a different one and in that one they're fine Edit: and yeah, flickering and/or slowdown when there are many sprites onscreen are due to the NE...

Re: [Release] Vinyl Goddess from Mars Level editor + level pack

I have played Vinyl Goddess From Mars ages ago, but not very much of it if I recall. I think it was a shareware version on a compilation CD or something? I may have though it reminded me of Jill of the Jungle at the time, since it apparently was originally supposed to be a sequel to Jill that explai...

Re: Romero publishes Keen 7 Tech Demo from 1992

Looks like it must've been an early test. As to whether much of any more work was done on Keen 7 before it was dropped, hard to say but I'm thinking quite possibly not very much? In any case, interesting to see stuff like this

Re: The new new music thread

Probably been a lot more music since I last posted but my most recently acquired albums if I recall offhand are: Zapp - Zapp , Zapp II , Zapp III (in a 2-CD compilation thing) Iron Butterfly - Original Album Series (collection of their first five albums (I assume it's their first five, it's definite...

Future Days waa the first Can album I ever heard. Nice one. Have you heard Monster Movie or Soundtracks? What's the Tangerine Dream album like? I've listened to Future Days quite a lot since getting it. Haven't heard Monster Movie or Soundtracks yet, still want to get those ones at some point I lik...

Very interesting. Back when reading about the Super Mario Bros. 3 PC demo and its scrolling becoming the beginnings of Keen, I wouldn't have imagined that one day it'd be possible to see it in action. This is neat
